“MOOOM, They’re Not Dolls, They’re Action Figures, Okay?”

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Movies,Oddly Enough

star-wars-figures-1.jpg

Just what the hell are you looking at here? Why that would be a collection of roughly eighty billion Star Wars figures, which I actually think features more characters than the actual movies had in them. The dude could man a 1/12th size Death Star with that compliment of Stormtroopers alone!

I’ve always wondered what inspires people to collect things to such a degree. I topped out at about 300 assorted X-Men, JLA and Avengers figures, WHEN I WAS TEN, and tbey’re all messed up due to the fact that I was repeatedly slamming them into each other. I also have a binder full of every Pokemon card in pristine condition from the first three sets released, but again, this was the better part of a decade ago…..except for that pack I bought last week because I was curious.

There are a ton more pictures of the details of this collection, which you can find here. Good God.

Some people achieve a level of awesomeness so great that they can’t handle how awesome they’ve become.  Rather than trying to hide it from the world, they shove a giant ball of their awesome in its face every day.

You Cannot Beat the J.J. Abrams Board Game

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Television

In celebration of what should be the last season of Lost (unless there’s a twist!), the good folks over at io9 have made this J.J. Abrams themed board game that you absolutely will not win. Why? Well with every space being something like “Surprise! Your boss is the bad guy” (go back ten squares),” You notice the number 47 surrounds you everywhere you go (go back to start),” “You blow yourself up to save everyone (game over),” it’s pretty damn hard to advance. It’s a combination of things from Lost, Fringe and a little bit of MI3, Star Trek and Cloverfield thrown in for good measure.

But anyways, who’s pumped for Lost next week? It’s on Tuesday now? What the hell? Dislike. Anyway, I’ll be starting up my weekly “Lost Questions” column as of then, and now that we have readers this year, it should be a lot more fun!

Lion Vs. Cougar

Published by Nattyb under Images

Lion

I think this is the first time I’ve seen a picture of a human with a lion (could be a liger or some half breed but who cares?) where I feared for the animal considerably more than I feared for the human.

I mean seriously.  Who in the hell is this woman?  Doesn’t she just irk the hell out of you?  I feel like she’s got cats and dogs and God knows what else in some back room.

And we all know why she has them.  I refuse to say it out loud.  Yuck.

How to Play Mass Effect 2 as Barack Obama

Published by Paul Tassi under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdWG79eQqsw&feature=player_embedded

While most of you currently hooked on Mass Effect 2 like myself, are using your character from the original game ported over, if you DID per chance want to star anew, this handy tutorial shows you how to play the game as Barack Obama.

If you execute this build, the game rewards you with 10,000 Paragon points from the start.

OK, just kidding, but I’m guessing future President Obama would take the space diplomacy route. However, it would be quite hilarious to watch him execute people left and right playing as a Renegade.

Unreality’s Top 15 Best Lists of the Year

Published by Paul Tassi under Lists,Movies,Television

fountain-pic.jpg

If you’re any sort of a regular reader here, you know that we love lists at Unreality, but as our audience has grown from zero to a million over the past year (true story), many of you probably missed some of our best stuff that was posted a long while back. I’ve compiled a list of our favorite lists, and no, the irony of this does not escape me.

Check them out below, clicking on each picture takes you to the original article. And that zero to a million thing? That’s all because of you guys, and you all rock, and we owe you uh, more good articles I guess.

The Lonely Rover

Published by Paul Tassi under Images

So due to the fact that XKCD is the most popular webcomic on the internet by a million miles, I see it being passed around about every other day. But I took special notice of this decidedly un-funny comic they posted yesterday, as it just breaks my heart.

It kind of reminds me of Wall-E, except he was just fine with buckling down and doing his job, despite being the only moving thing left on planet Earth. But yeah, our poor Mars rovers that we just abandon… Tragic.

Although, truth be told, they’ll probably be the first things to be discovered by aliens in the future.

The Darksiders Journal: Day 18

Published by Madison under Journals,Video Games

Read journal #1 HERE first.

Although this is day 18 of my Darksiders journal, it’s really more like day 2 or 3.  But it’s been 18 days since my first journal entry, so here’s to consistency.  I haven’t finished the game yet – not even close – but that’s because I just recently put down Bayonetta to really dive into Darksiders.  I like Darksiders more and more each time I play it, and I feel like I’m really into the meat of the game currently.  The game has seemed to really expand, the world becoming gigantic and, dare I say, epic.

“That Guy” Actor of the Week: Jose Zuniga

Published by Nattyb under Columns

Zuniga

You might recognize him as Detective Cavaliere in CSI episodes but I’ll always know this guy as the crazy mechanic from Alive.  And who can forget his performance as a terrible imposter inmate/federal marshall in Conair?  So who is this guy that is very Latino in name but doesn’t seem to be that way in his roles?  Why it’s Jose Zuniga.

Jose’s most recent movie role was that of Mr. Molina in the movie Twilight.  Yay Twilight!   But you just see him all over the place on television.  And there’s something about Jose that’s kind of creepy, but in a good way.  I mean if that picture above doesn’t say it then I don’t know what does.

Bottom line is that I like this guy and you should too.  And now you know that his name is Jose Zuniga.  Isn’t that nice?

LEGO Star Wars Characters on Hoth

Published by Nattyb under Images

Star Wars on Hoth

For whatever reason there are loads of people out there who love to depict movie scenes, album covers, historic events, you name it, using LEGO pieces.  I’m not sure why but it’s a very common practice amongst dorks.

Instead of just building Star Wars LEGO sets, Finnish photographer Avanaut wanted to create realistic depictions of Hoth using the bricks.

It goes something like this….

The setup is simple really: All I use is an old transparent CD storage box, some water and my trusty old A4 lightbox for lighting. For the bottom of the box I have a piece of gray Lego baseplate cut in form and hotglued on a piece of acrylic sheet to give it some weight. Legos float because of all the air trapped inside individual pieces.

I had a wacky idea to submerge everything in water, it slows down everything that moves. The water also causes light to reflect from solid surfaces in a way that sometimes helps hiding the miniature scale.

Yeah sounds real simple. In any event, here are the results
