Mass Effect 2 Trailer Gets My Hopes Way, Way Up

If you’ve read this site for any amount of time, you know that Bioware’s Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of all time. It’d take too long to go into all the reasons for the umpteenth time, but just know that I’m absurdly excited for the sequel due out this winter, unfortunately not in time for Christmas.
This is the first full-length cinematic trailer for the game and ho-lee-shite, that looks amazing. Granted, it’s a cinematic trailer, but the lines between cinematic and gameplay are becoming more and more blurred these days, so outside of the backflips and head-stomping and what not during combat, I predict it won’t be a whole lot different than this graphic-wise.
What did you Commander Shepard look like? I didn’t want to stick with the male model prototype seen here. My guy’s Asian with a scar on his face and ice blue eyes.

I actually made my Shepard look exactly like Tupac. I’m not kidding.
My captain Sherpard was black with Blonde hair. I was going for a Rodman-esque look and I think he pulled it off quite nicely. Of course He also had a scar because I can pretty much never pass up adding a scar if it’s an option in character creation.
I got one Shepard to look kinda like Gordan Freeman, the other one’s just the basic male prototype.
I cannot wait for this game.
I had a diffcult time getting into ME1. I think it had too many choices and too many things to do. My OCD forces me to do everything, perfectly, so I never got past that stage where the alien things kill the settlers at that launch pad…thing.
Having said that, ME2 looks more run and gun, so maybe the sequel will be more up my alley.
