Kick-Ass’ Hit Girl Lives Up to Her Name

Published by Paul Tassi at 1:00 pm under Movies,Videos

Not since The Professional have we seen a little girl trained as an assassin, but there’s no odd Natalie Portman pedophilia vibes here, it’s just a 14 year-old girl kicking a whole lot of ass, as the title implies. And yes, it is the little girl from 500 Days of Summer now that you mention it.

Despite me knowing nothing about the comic, Kick-Ass is fast-becoming one of my most anticipated movies for 2010. Watch the clip above and tell me it’s not going to be on your must-see list.

are they even allowed to show something like this??

it looks cool, despite the music is a bit strange^^

    i’ll give it a try

AWESOME!!! The gore in the preview = 2 thumbs up.

Music is perfect for it, as after all, she is just a little girl and the music has that feel to it.

hehe, looks interesting. I’m a bit surprised.
I checked her on IMdB, and man, that kid must be fucked up.
In the last five years that 12 year old played in more than 20 movies, and lots of them are horror flicks.
“Hallowed Ground”, “Wicked Little Things”, “The Amityville Horror”, “Room 6″,…
I liked her in 500 Days of summer.
But I also saw she’ll be the girl in “Let Me In”. I mean of course if I was the director of the movie I’d choose her too, becaus I’m sure there is no other 12 year old that horror flick experienced.
But I’ll problably end up hating her – and everyone else producing that movie, for that matter.
    Too bad.

It has potential but it is probably going to be insanely awful. Personally I prefer action movies that have at least a modicum of realism, a twelve year old running up walls and wasting rooms full of people with a couple of pistols is not realistic. Scratch that anyone doing that isn’t realistic. I might watch it on DVD but I don’t have high hopes.

If you are only down with what can “really” happen I’d hate to have your movie watching experiences…

This looks awesome! I’m digging that it looks like a tween flick, until you register the insane amounts of violence and the kid’s foul mouth.

I really want to see the trailers for the other characters, if they make them.
This looks like it’ll turn out one hell of a film.

The gun and sword stuff was cool, but when she starts pulling/throwing around people 4 times her size, I just go “eh?” Maybe if she is some mutant/cyborg thing. My 14 year old niece is not going to throw me (250 lbs) across a room. I can pick her up with one arm. It seems like they’re going for realism and suspension of disbelief at the same time, and failed.

Not saying it could not be good. I like good films, and if they can pull it off, great, and I will watch. Just not very hopeful on this one.

If all the money I’ve paid for film school has taught me anything is the suspension of disbelief. As long as they set some kind of standard for what’s going to be happening along the way (don’t switch from realism to insanity, vice versa, etc.) then they prevent cognitive dissonance.

It took me about 15 minutes to remember that last term, so I think it’s bed time.

A new low for “mainstream Hollywood” has clearly been reached. Unbelievable.

Wow. The trash Hollywood keeps spewing out never ceases to amaze me. But it no longer surprises me. A bunch of worthless people cranking out worthless films.

charles your clearly a dumbass, this is pretty much exactly like the source material

Well Bryan your niece is probably a normal weak girl then. There are girls however that are extremly strong however and in the case of “hit girl” it has more to do with leverages, the element of surprise and using your opponents own weight against them.

    Damn-it damn-it damn-it!

The original comic was the whole, “what if your ordinary high-schooler kid dressed up as a hero and hit the streets?” thing. He got his ass beat, repeatedly.

The whole vibe was that despite getting beat repeatedly, he always got back up. Only later in the series did he inspire another kid to take to the streets. They were ordinary people.

Once again, Hollywood takes it to the next level, dropping the entire storyline ie Wanted.
