The Epic Demise of Duke Nukem Forever

The only current print magazine in existence worth reading, Wired, has a great piece on the trainwreck that has been the development of Duke Nukem Forever over the past 15 or so years. It more or less reads like A Heart of Darkness, with Col. Kurtz being Duke chief George Broussard who pissed away the most potential of any game franchise ever with his maddening reworkings of the game as it moved through production hell.

I highly suggest you go check it out. It’s not very hopeful for the future of the franchise, as now with development shut down, everyone is suing everyone because everything went to shit, and it will likely be years before we figure out who even owns the rights to the Duke anymore.

Anyone else see the irony in naming the once-upcoming game “Forever?”
