5 Avatar Trailer Mashups To Get you Pumped For Tomorrow

Well here it is folks.  The moment you’ve all been waiting for.  It’s Avatar time!  In less than 24 hours we will get to see first hand if James Cameron can deliver on what is probably the most hyped movie since Dark Knight.   Will it be as good as some think?  Or will it be as crappy as some think?

Personally I feel that people are going to come out of this movie saying “it was a good movie but certainly not amazing.”   And I think that the producers might be OK with that.   This is a big risk.  And using elements of animation and CG mixed with real movie stuff makes it quite difficult to take the movie 100% seriously.

Hey I could be wrong but a human with a bunch of blue weird cartoon people isn’t the easiest premise to turn into a movie filled with real emotion.

Again, I remain open so who knows.  In the meantime here are some fun trailer mashups before you go see it tomorrow

Avatar/Fern Gully Mashup

Very solid dubbing here

Pochahontas/Avatar Trailer

Kind of crappy but amusing

M. Night Shymalan’s AVATAR

Again, solid dubbing using both Avatars.

Cool Trailer using no Avatar Footage

Just solid timing all around

Teaser Trailer Redux

Fan remade this.  It’s pretty solid.

I saw Avatar yesterday. I did not expect it to be that good. But it was THAT good. Seriously AMAZING!

I’m not sure about the states, but i saw this two days ago here in Australia. It was spectacular. I remember thinking a few times “This isn’t a movie, it’s an experience”. Particularly during the opening few scenes.

Well unreality. You win. You kept insisting that this movie wasn’t going to suck and by god, you were right. I guarantee there will stick be a few sticklers that won’t like this out of principle (as someone pointed out on Devin Faraci’s negative review that it was probably written weeks, if not months ago.) All in all, fucking awesome. And to think that a few days ago I was one of those negative Betty’s.

I live in Australia as well and i saw Avatar today, and i was not all that blown away with it.
I thought it looked amazing but the movie was too heavily cliched, you knew what was going to happen from the very beginning, Avatar was a GOOD movie not GREAT.

For decades, movies were very one-way; the audience would sit in front of the screen and absorb the movie in front of them. Today, we have the option of becoming involved with a particular movie even weeks or months before we see it. Through social media outlets like Flickr, YouTube or Twitter and with interactive applications like the Avatar trailer, we are able to watch and absorb information about the film and share our opinions with our peers and directly with the production companies. I wrote more about the interactive Avatar trailer here: http://popculture2point0.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/avatar-and-the-interactive-trailer/
