I Dare You To Cast a Better ‘Half-Life’ Movie than This

In addition to being accurate to the point of being scary, I think that this cast could actually be assembled when the inevitable Half-Life movie does get made. It’s about damn time for Hugh Laurie to start starring in movies, and I’d be quite pumped about seeing Walken back as a villain. The rest of the cast isn’t too A-listy to be unreasonable, so I really think this could happen if anyone in Hollywood had half a brain.

Which of course, they do not. Channing Tatum for Gordon Freeman.

I can’t think of a better cast than that, although I really hope they never end up making an actual movie. The best part of Half-Life was that it already felt like being inserted into a movie, and the plot was only revealed to you in tiny increments as you went along. Having said that, I would gladly pay 10 bucks to watch Hugh Laurie pick up that first crowbar.

I Think Tony Shaloub would make a better Father Grigori.

Holy smokes! I totally agree with almost all of these castings, especially Hugh Laurie and Jeremy Piven!! Great job!!

I wish I looked like Gordon Freeman. Because I would bloody love to star in this movie (if they ever made it).

Part of me wishes they never produce this because there’s likely a 99% chance that it will suck and give HL a crappy face. Plus, you figure the games freaking define the word “epic” and it would be tough to recreate that experience in a 2 hour jaunt on the big screen. I say keep the franchise out of the theatre and find a way to continue making the games!

You can’t just cast people ’cause they look like the original character

Im so glad someone noticed the Gordon Freeman looks quite like Hugh Laurie
@ Charles – Don’t you think if they were going to make a movie like that they would want the RL characters to closely resemble the video game ones, besides they are all quite good actors. All you need is an awesome script (which will never happen)

That’s a little creepy. I’m now running through the entire game with Hugh Laurie and Gordan.

I don’t know…I kind of like having Benson reprising his role as Eli Vance rather than giving it to an A-Lister.

a little overused but robert downey jr. as dr freeman, hugo weaving (agent smith) as g-man, and while I’m throwing matrix cast members, how about carrie ann moss as judith mossman.

How about Bryan Cranston as Morgan Freeman….
