For All You Dane Cook Fans Out There: He Wants to Play the Riddler

Published by at 1:30 pm under News

Dane

I will use an old Jewish woman coffee talk gossip phrase to describe this situation:  “Could ya die?”

The comedian was recently speaking with MTV News and the idea of him being a part of a “Dark Knight” sequel was brought up. Here’s his response:

“I love the new Dark Knight series and ‘Batman Begins,’” Cook told MTV News when asked if there were any comic book movie characters he has his eye on. “If they brought back The Riddler—a new Riddler the way they did with The Joker—that would be bad-ass. I would do that.”

Guys, how many levels of wrong is this?  Cook even went on to talk about how he would play the riddler.  Well I can think of five ways on how he’d play the riddler.

1. Wrong
2. Horribly
3. Like a moronic comedian would
4. With Zero talent
5. WAY too much effort thus making it terrible

If the Riddler does in fact get re introduced how about we put someone qualified into the role?  Any thoughts?  Personally I thought Jim Carrey did a nice job.  In today’s world?

Johnny Depp maybe?

completely agree, jim carrey did a great job for the style of film, and he could do a great job again given a more serious style of direction.

For Batman 3 I expect Catwoman and the Riddler to show up.

I think Johnny Depp would make a great Riddler. But I don’t like to speculate too much about these casting choices anymore. When I first heard Heath Ledger was playing the Joker, I was pretty disappointed. Yeah…so, who’s an idiot now?

    In Nolan I trust.

Only one man. Jim Parsons aka Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory.

the third movie should be about Batman facing Riddler, and Bruce Wayne facing Black Mask, the Riddler finds out who Batman is, asks Black Mask to team up with him and he has to take them both out.

    Ben Foster.

Depps to easy. One of the things that Helped Ledgers Joker was that it was really different to any of his other roles. I’d like to see my man-crush Vincent Cassel have a go at it.
    Guy Pearce maybe?

I’ve always thought Michael C. Hall, better known as Dexter, would make an outstanding Riddler. But please, not Johnny Depp. He’s gone from being truly interesting to boringly predicatable with about 5 too many Burton movies over the last few years.

We get it Johnny, you’re SOOOO weird (just like everyone in line at Hot Topic).

Well said Joe(I’m sick of Depp being flaunted as the token “eccentric” in hollywood).

Must be horrible to be compared to Heath Ledger…

    Crispin Glover

Thankfully, Nolan NEVER uses no-talent idiots like Cook. Hopefully he will go with my idea and choose Paul Bettany to be the Riddler, if they decide to go the Riddler route, of course.

I think they really should bring Michael Emerson on as the Riddler. Watch the season of Lost in which he was introduced and watch the transformation of his character. He would bring a dosage of intellect, mystery, and fear to the Riddler.

    @Dave

Wow, I’ve been reading Riddler suggestions for the better part of a year, and that’s the best one I’ve heard so far.

Great call on Michael C Hall, would never have thought of him, but he is really good as Dexter… Paddy Considine would be great, see his stunning turn in ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’

I still prefer the idea of the Penguin (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and Catwoman (Angelina Jolie)

Will Arnett as the Riddler? I mean, it would be tough to take him seriously, but maybe he could pull it off with just the right amount of crazy.

Regardless, Dane Cook would be a terrible choice. For that matter, anyone who has co-starred with Jessica Simpson should stay the hell away from any of these films.

Dane Cook is horrible…no one will go to see that. The rest of you are wrong too. Crispin Glover. The guy is already unstable in real life. Let’s exploit his obvious insanity.
