‘NBA Jam’ Highlight Reel
I randomly stumbled across this montage today, and it just made me happy. I remember playing countless hours of NBA Jam on the Sega Genesis, and it remains one of the only sports games I’ve ever actually enjoyed playing, the other two being NFL Blitz and Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey.
This video has all the best moments of the game, save one. Though I think I played about 500 hours of NBA Jam and saw the backboard shatter exactly one time, like a mythical unicorn.

aww, theres a trick to the breaking of the back board but i cant think what it is….i think its only in the 4thqt and you have to be on fire and something else…dammit.
love that game tho, i recently dug it out ealier this year. it holds up pretty well.
Loved this game, but the computer assistance was out of control.
Awesome game, one of my all-time Sega favourites. I broke the backboard a bunch of times – for me, the mythical unicorn of NBA Jam was getting the announcer to shout “Is it the shoes?!”
