Irony typically happens when the outcome of events occurs contrary to what was or might have been expected. Some examples of this would be a bear caught eating a bear claw donut or a Siberian cheese monster falling in love with a Icleandic fire goddess.

Another example of this would be a person born with shoe feet buying shoes, but the shoe feet people are almost extinct these days.
