Fergie Blames Child Stardom on Drug Addiction: Fergie was a Child Star?

According to Contact Music:

Former child star and Black Eyed peas singer Fergie blames her early start in Hollywood for triggering her addiction to drugs.
The 34 year old appeared in Disney’s Kids Incorporated from 1984 to 1990 before she shot to fame with the hip-hop group, but while her career was taking off, her private life was a mess of substance abuse and addictions to crystal meth and ecstasy.

Did anyone know who Fergie was before Black Eyed Peas?  Anyone at all? All I know is that she played one of Kelly Bundy’s friends on Married with Children.

Besides, does this really classify as big news?  I mean do we really need to hear about another child star who was doing drugs?  Haven’t we covered this for the last umpteenth years?  We get it.  The pressures of being a child star bring you to drugs, sex, rock and roll, and insanity.

Sounds like an awesome life to me.

I think I had read she was on Kids Incorporated, and I actually used to watch that show, but I didn’t remember her. Wasn’t she in a group called Wild Orchid, though? That’s where I first took notice.

Also, she has a man’s face. Great body, but a man’s face.

actually she was also a singer in the all girl group wild orchid, they had a great album i used to have they were so good. unfortunatly they only had that one good album, then fergie started doing meth and some how wound up with the black eyed peas. whats interesting is how different she was with wild orchid than she is with the black eyes peas.

Actually, I do remember her from Kids Inc. That’s why I noticed her girl group Wild Orchid (which also included the red-head on the far right). Her jump from Wild Orchid to BEP is what I found surprising.
