Why oh why is this happening to me!
David Cronenberg is again buzzing with “The Fly.” The auteur is in talks to develop a reboot of the 1986 classic with Fox, the studio that released that film, writing and potentially directing the new pic.
The move marks an about-face for the Canadian director, who in the past has said he did not want to be involved on a remake of the film.
No, the move marks an about-dumbass tragedy for the Canadian Director. Can someone please, for the love of God, come up with an original story?
Look, I’m sure it’ll be interesting in some way. I’m sure people will go out to see this movie just for the fact that they’re curious to know what the remake will look like (in fact that’s probably what the studio will bank on).
But do you really think this is going to come off well? Perhaps to a younger generation of morons out there who are the same kinds of people who say “That’s from the Soprano’s!” when hearing “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey.
God I get nauseous just thinking about that. Please don’t make this film. Thanks.
