Real Life Big Daddy Suit is Older Than You’d Think

So how old do you think this real-life diving suit is, that surely inspired the Big Daddy outfits from Bioshock? 60 years? 70? 80?
Nope, try 127 years old.
That’s right, this suit is from 1882, and proves that there was probably never a harder time to be a Navy SEAL than in the Civil War. The suit claims to have “never been used” and I would freaking hope not because I sure as hell wouldn’t have volunteered to try this thing out in the lab? “Oh don’t worry, if it starts filling up with water, we’ll pull you out…It’ll only take 20 minutes to hoist you up.”
