Comedy actress Tina Fey has won an Emmy Award for her satirical portrayal of Republican vice-presidential contender Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live.
Fey was honoured at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmys, which recognise technical and other achievements
You know we’ve come a long way in entertainment when we get to the point that an actress wins an Emmy for essentially making fun of a politician on national television. I mean sure we’ve seen people play Presidents and senators in movies, etc etc. But most of the time the roles are serious. And if they’re not, I haven’t seen too many Oscar nominations.
But on SNL? Fey and the show were blatantly making fun of Palin’s hotness and stupidity. It just goes to show how much the entertainment world hated Palin. To give an award for the portrayal of her lunacy is pretty damned awesome if you ask me.
Congrats to Tina. Looking forward to 30 Rock honey!
