Really Clive Owen?

Did I miss a memo where Clive Owen had gone from badass extraordinaire to a member of 98 degrees? That’s the only explanation for this uber-tan poster for The Boys are Back, which very well might be his first single.

Oh it’s a movie? And this is the trailer?

Well alright, that’s a little better, but watch it buddy. After you get all the nice guy out of your system, I fully expect Shoot ‘em Up 2 in the not too distant future.

Maybe it’s a way to avoid getting type cast? Or perhaps a way to draw in more fans, people who don’t like action movies (though he has “Closer” for that)… It could be worse, like when Vin Diesel did “the Pacifier”.

I never really thought about it, but Owen is a really, really versatile actor.

Owen is an amazing actor. Let him do what he wants and then every now and then he’ll give us a Children of Men (easily his best film) or Shoot ‘Em Up. The International was more in line with what you expect from him, albeit a bit slow. If you really want more of badass Clive Owen, watch that film

Yep, he went all pretty (clean cut, well shaven) in Duplicity as well. Would have been a decent film if it wasn’t for Julia Roberts. I really just don’t care for her acting.

I really like Clive Owen though, I think he’s a talented actor.

Children of Men is probably my favorite movie of the last 10 years. I thought Owen was perfect in it.

All right, seems like the type of movie I’d like. For a minute their, I thought it was going to be a shitty romantic comedy.
