100 Years of Special Effects
I woke up today feeling like death, so apologies if my posts are a little out of sorts. While I figure out how to actually eat something, enjoy this video I found that chronicles the history of special effects from the early 1900s to today. Yes, they forgot The Matrix and included to Golden Compass. No one’s perfect.

Can’t watch the video (in class at the moment) but The Golden Compass was actually pretty good with the Special Effects. A lot of the film was green screen (like 300, for example). The backgrounds looked incredibly real and the animals were pretty good too (though not without their flaws). I think the work they did on the Polar Bear Army was absolutely incredible.
