It’s a ‘Fallout 3′ Dance Party!

Published by Paul Tassi at 1:00 pm under Oddly Enough, Video Games

One of my biggest complaints about Fallout 3 was that it took itself too seriously. I mean sure, you’re living in an apocalyptic wasteland, but isn’t anyone ever happy about anything? Is there no way to ever have fun just because everyone you know is either dead or a radioactive mutant?

Well thankfully, one modder decided to lighten things up a bit by programming the game with some happenin’ dance moves. This video is everything I wanted Fallout 3 to be, a non-stop, good-time party! With guns and robots! What more could you ask for?

I have to agree. I totally loved Fallout 3 for all it was. The biggest flaw was the complete lack of humor. There was tongue-in-cheek humor (”What’s a disc? HELL IF I KNOW!”) spread throughout and there was tons upon tons of extremely black humor (”WE’RE DYING OUT HERE ASSHOLES!”) to match it. But there was just a lack of.. Happiness.

And I’m not saying everyone SHOULD have been dancing and singing. Shit, the world is over. Things suck. But after playing the game for several days straight you really start getting depressed. Everything you do, every choice, results in a downer. Tranquility Lane comes to mind specifically. Do I torture and murder these innocent people who have been stuck in a simulation for god knows how long? Or do I simply activate a code to have them shot in cold blood? Either way innocent victims die. Both have a humorous twist to them, but it’s a very dark humor. When every single quest ends with a downer of some kind, it’s just kind of bleak.

If you had to live in the Wasteland, you’d probably just shoot yourself after a couple of days. I would.
