There is being addicted and just doing something you enjoy with your free time.

While some are more prone then others, addiction is something that we all can become a victim to. Whether it's addicted to MMO's, gambling, smoking, drinking, sex, etc. It's always a problem and needs to be taken care off. Of course, the companies don't help matters. They have their own experts whose purpose to to get you addicted. To make it more addictive. By making it addictive, they ensure that more people will not only come back but also stick around.

This is something that is not to be confused with non addictive uses. Most people can walk away from the computer or slot machine and not even flinch. This is when it's no different than sitting down for hours watching TV. In fact, it was something that always irked me when I was a kid. My parents who would sit down and watch 4 or 5 hours of TV got on my case if I spent more than 2 hours playing a video game. Even at night when it was too late for me to be outside playing. The truth is that when addiction is out of the equation, there really is no difference between playing a video game, watching tv, reading a book, etc.

As for the method mentioned up above. Hey, if it works then great.

so whats worst playing video games or being lazy and sitting on the couch watching tv i guess at least you are moving you hands and fingers and stuff but i think this is just going to cause therapists to become addicts as well and then those therapists will need therapists and who is even going to point out the heavy gamers like their mom/wife/friend is going to call a therepists and hes going to contact them on WoW. im sure it wont really work out how he plans hes gonna try to contact someone and just get ignored im sure. but whatever i never played WoW so i dont know what will happen

@ Ashweee

Yes, it most certainly is. The latter is simply laziness or boredom.
