WoW Addicts Learn not to Be Addicted by having People Talk to them…..Through WoW

Turns out that if you’re addicted to World of Warcraft, your best hope is to be treated by a doctor who is treating you online in some wacko WoW room.
Dr. Richard Graham, a consultant psychiatrist at the Tavistock Centre in London, would like therapists to join the game in order to treat addicted gamers right where they’re spending all their time.
Addicted gamers don’t exhibit the same outward warning signs as most teenage anti-social behaviour issues do because they’re in their bedrooms most of the time, seemingly out of trouble. Because of this we can’t get through to them in the traditional educational environment or intrude on their actual bedrooms, we need to turn to the internet itself to tackle these problems - Via Telegraph
It’s amazing how far from reality you have to be that the only way you’ll become “human” again is by having some drone contact you in a fantasy world that you created for yourself and that other psycho addicts contributed to.
That’s like thinking you’re part of a movie 24 hours a day and the only help you can get is by someone else pretending to be one of the characters.
Personally I think I’m in a porn movie all the time so sure, I’d be happy to have a “therapist” help me out with my addiction.

After reading your post, I think I’ll go watch Existenz again.
How many times must I bring this up: the Singularity is near!
people being “addicted” to WoW is no different from people who sit on their ass and watch TV every night when they come home.
@ Ashweee
Yes, it most certainly is. The latter is simply laziness or boredom.
so whats worst playing video games or being lazy and sitting on the couch watching tv i guess at least you are moving you hands and fingers and stuff but i think this is just going to cause therapists to become addicts as well and then those therapists will need therapists and who is even going to point out the heavy gamers like their mom/wife/friend is going to call a therepists and hes going to contact them on WoW. im sure it wont really work out how he plans hes gonna try to contact someone and just get ignored im sure. but whatever i never played WoW so i dont know what will happen
