Gyllenhaal Relies on Swords AND Biceps in ‘Prince of Persia’

From EW (they get all the cool pictures) here’s your first look at Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia plus swords. I feel like I’ve been hearing about this movie for a decade, but it’s stil almost a year away in May 2010.

As much as I like to make fun of this project, I have to admit that it’s the first video game movie that looks like a serious amount of effort is going into it. And I don’t just mean in scope and scale, the fact that it’s big name Bruckheimer and Gyllenhaal behind it indicate a different level of commitment to the genre we hadn’t seen before.

By no means do I expect this movie to be good, but at least you can tell it’s trying.

Also, I miss Gore Verbinski’s sunk Bioshock adaptation….

    Wow…I thought this movie was a lot closer. At least it’s not being rushed, which I suppose is some reason to be optimistic. But Bruckheimer…ugh…
