Quote of the Day: Michael Bay on Megan Fox

Megan Fox has been trash talking Transformers 2 a bit the past few weeks, saying that she doesn’t understand it and it doesn’t require a whole lot of acting. Well now Michael Bay got in on the action, and made it clearly that he really passively aggressively hates the girl. From The Wall Street Journal:

“Well, that’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, “Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it.” But I 100% disagree with her. Nick Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in “Armageddon.” Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did “Transformers”-and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from “Bad Boys.” Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in “Transformers.” I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films.”

The man has a point, he has built some careers in his day and Fox would be nothing without him. No mention of Josh Hartnett in Pearl Harbor? Yeah, I’d probably stay clear of that one too.

That is actually a very damned good point on his part. He has pretty much launched the careers of quite a few big name actors.

i read somewhere that nicolas cage and ben affleck already won an oscar before bay casted them.
but i was too lazy to check it out

Yeah, Nic Cage won an Oscar for leaving Las Vegas which came out a year before The Rock as well as headlining several big projects before that. People knew who Nic Cage was before Michael Bay. Ben Affleck one an Oscar for Good Will Hunting a year before Armageddon. On top of that Ben Affleck had already been well known for being a complete douche bag.

yea i didn’t even know who that Megan Fox was until i saw transformers dead serious. P.S. see her new movie trailer “Jeniffer’s body” that’s what i feel she is acting like in real life a *%(#@ <—- i didn’t put the real word but you get the picture.

i think transformers 2 only did well at the box office because she was in it, so the favour has been returned. michael bay always sounds like a douche when he opens his mouth. we are talking about the car chase king here, his movies do not actually require normal acting just painful over-acting, and don’t even get me started on the scripts.

Bay is an idiot. He takes up-and-comings, does a blockbuster with them (a job he gets ‘cuz he just does as he’s told by the studio) and then claims he “made” them. He didn’t make them, they did and their agents. But the main point is that he totally dodged the topic, he just said his lead was an idiot (why cast her then) and then raved on about himself.

Along with Cage and Affleck, Bay’s taking far too much credit for Will Smith too. Before Bad Boys - he was the F***ing Fresh Prince! And a platinum selling rapper! Bay did NOT make him a star.
