Mr. Eko Wants Back on Lost

If you’re like me, you were massively disappointed when Mr. Eko was nonchalantly killed off Lost by the smoke monster back in season three. It had seemed like his character was just getting started, and his death was extremely unwarranted (although it makes a bit more sense now, as we’ve seen the smoke monster act as a “judge” in another instance with Ben).

But it soon became clear that it wasn’t the producers’ decision for Eko to leave it was the actor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (I’m only going to write that once) who wanted out. At first it was reported that he just got “Island Fever” and was desperate to get off the set, which was upsetting, but then it turns out that both his parents had died, so that’s a little different.

With Lost‘s final season on the horizon for 2011, Eko recently spoke out about a possible return to the show, to give his character some closure.

“To be able to give that rich character some completion would be nice.”

Yes, that would be nice, and I’m willing to bet almost anything we’ll see Eko show up for at least one episode next season. Maybe he’ll finally finish that church.

With Lost , it wouldn’t be too hard to bring back a dead character, which is why it can easily work and I would really like for Mr Eko to come back! I hope we do see him in future seasons…
