In Case You Missed It: The Complete Dr. Horrible Collection

Today for you I have a short post, but a good one. For years now, I’ve been an on-again, off-again fan of Joss Whedon. I couldn’t get into Buffy or Angel, while I think Firefly is God’s gift to sci-fi. And comedy. And westerns. I hated the first half of season one of Dollhouse, but the second half I will argue is pure genius.

But here we have another Whedon project that didn’t nearly get the press it deserved. It’s his web miniseries, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, which features Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and a whole lot of singing. It’s probably the most refreshing exercise in uh, media (can’t call it television) I’ve ever seen because it was made purely because it was an awesome idea that needed to be made, television or not.

It’s also a taste of what the future of TV could be like, once it merges with the internet once and for all (you know it’s coming). What happens when a talented creator teams with equally talented actors and they devote all their energies to a web show? You get a fan-freaking-tastic web show, that’s what.

But enough talk, even for the uninitiated into the world of Whedon, Dr. Horrible is just a damn good time. Check out the full miniseries below:

NPH is great, but Fillion just owns it. I love that guy.

My Freeze Ray… reminds me of my high school days. “Mumbling… Love your hair”

One of the best things to come out of the Strike.
