The part about popular women-centered movies being "flukes" especially. Like I remember a few years ago when "The Devil Wears Prada" was a massive success in theaters, and reading about how this seemed to be some kind of surprise to industry people. Like, wow! Half the country is women, and they like to see movies too, and like movies with women in them! What an incredible concept! It's kind of a stupid argument, though...just because I want a strong female lead doesn't mean I want to make a movie with no men in it or involved with it. I won't refuse to see a good movie just because it has a mostly male cast. I certainly wouldn't complain about another Ripley or Sarah Connor type, and I have expressed in the past wanting to see a strong female lead in a Pixar movie someday, but it's certainly not a "destroy all men" kind of wish. And there are women-led movies that come out, but they mostly tend to be vapid romantic comedies, most of which I am not interested in. Mainly I want to see GOOD movies, regardless of the gender of the cast. Isn't that what most people want?Damn you Unreality, I keep spending too long formulating these posts.

I read the article and I think it’s very good.
