Brutal Legend Fans Break Idiotic World Record

Proving yes, you can set a Guinness World Record for absolutely anything, 440 Brutal Legend fans gathered in Leicestershire in the UK to break the “most people air guitaring at once” world record. Sigh.
The gathering took place at the 2009 Download Festival, which surprisingly does not take place on the internet. EA of course organized the whole thing as a publicity stunt, as the air rockers were all wearing EA shirts. An official from Guinness flew out to oversee the thing. I can only imagine this guys job. Why yes, there are in fact 440 people air guitaring at the same time. You win.
And really, only 440 people? I feel like I could organize half my Facebook friends into one place and we could air guitar our way into the record books.

Say what you want about Brutal Legend, Jack Black, Air Guitaring, the British… That game is going to be awesome and hilarious because of the simple fact that Tim Schafer is helming it. It’s not our fault that you didn’t grow up playing Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max and are angsty because of it.
