No, my title is not a pun, implying that I would like to see these women take their clothes off. Though now that I think it about it, that would have been rather clever, and it is true. Damn it!

Anyways, what I really mean to say is that I’d like to see these women in more movies and shows. Most have a “big” role to their credit, but more often than not they’re relegated to being “hot female lead” in some sh*tty action movie, or “crying sorority girl” on Law and Order: SVU. But I think they have more in them, and they’ve got the looks and talent to possibly be the next big thing if given a chance.

1) Nadia Bjorlin

Where I fell in love with her: Redline

What else she’s been in: Days of Our Lives. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.

I was incredibly upset when my film editor of my college paper told me to go review Redline, but once Nadia came onscreen, all my anger melted away. She is literally one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, and aside from Redline, she’s a cast member on (sigh) Days of Our Lives.

But honestly Nadia wasn’t a bad actress in the movie, and she was by far the most believable person onscreen. I think that if she got a few more roles like that one, people would begin to take notice rather than seeing her as purely a soap star.

2) Laura Vandervoort

Where I fell in love with her: Smallville

What else she’s been in: Into the Blue 2 (ugh)

When Clark’s cousin Kara showed up on Smallville, it was about the eighth time the show had jumped the shark. But because Smallville was long past its due already, having Kara there as eye candy was certainly not objectionable.

I don’t think Vandervoort is a bad actress, but her character on Smallville has been given absolutely nothing to do but looking pouty and throw people into walls. Her starring role in straight-to-DVD Into the Blue 2 isn’t exactly helping her cause, so I think a charitable director needs to cast her in his next project. I bet she could be a good actress is giving a non-retarded writing staff.

3) Alexis Dziena

Where I fell in love with her: Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

What else she’s been in: Fools Gold, Broken Flowers, Invasion

Alexis played the bitchy ex-girlfriend to Kat Dennings frumpy hipster chick, but no matter how evil she was, I was always pulling for her. When Michael Cera drives away while she’s doing a striptease in front of his car, I wanted to jump into the TV and punch him in the face.

I didn’t realize she was also the teenage ditz from Fools Gold, probably because she was about six shades more tan, but she was also pretty great in that mediocre movie. Hopefully she sticks with projects like Nick and Norah, where she’s the most appealing, and maybe she can get cast as a likable character for once to  let audiences get to know her.

4) Freida Pinto

Where I fell in love with her: Slumdog Millionaire

What else she’s been in: Nothing! Breakout role!

Yeah, alright so she was in an Oscar winning movie, but Freida Pinto is still a pretty minor actress with no other roles to her name. She was fifty thousand times hotter than goofball Dev Patel, but I guess anyone looks good compared to a 50 year old Indian gangster.

Freida has allegedly been cast in a new Woody Allen movie, which hopefully means he’s grown out of his Scarlett Johansson phase (Hey Woody! She can’t act!), but I’d like some other directors to work with her as well before Woody locks her down for his next five movies.

5) Alexa Davalos

Where I fell in love with her: The Chronicles of Riddick

What else she’s been in: Defiance, The Mist, Angel, Reunion, Undeclared (1 episode!)

I’d never even seen this girl before I watched Chronicles of Riddick last night, and she actually inspired this list. She’s gorgeous, a pretty good actress and has an insane amount of martial arts skills for only being in one real action movie.

She’s next appearing as Andromeda in Clash of the Titans, the Greek gods movie, and I’m guessing she’ll look great in a toga. But seriously, put this chick in some more action movies. I hadn’t seen moves like hers since Carrie Ann Moss in The Matrix. I’d watch her kick ass over Kate Beckinsale or Rhona Mitra any day.

6) AnnaLyne McCord

Where I fell in love with her: Nip/Tuck

What else she’s been in: 90210, Fired Up, The Haunting of Molly Hartley, Day of the Dead

In Nip/Tuck, AnnaLyne plays one of the most seductive characters I’ve ever seen. She’s barely (not?) legal high schooler who seduces two doctors, an actor, an actress and a porn director in the span of let’s say, five episodes.

I guess she’s got a pretty big role in the new 90210, but that show sucks and it’d be great to see her in something that I actually want to watch. I’ve gotten into arguments with people that don’t think she’s hot. Look at that picture. Am I wrong here?

7) Natascha McElhone

Where I fell in love with her: Solaris

What else she’s been in: Californication, The Truman Show, The Other Boleyn Girl

Yeah I can go a little older too, I don’t discriminate. Natascha was great as George Clooney’s resurrected wife in Solaris, and I feel like she’s got an “Uma Thurman but better looking” vibe about her, and has some of the most memorable eyes I’ve ever seen.

I didn’t really like her character in Californication as I felt like the writers made her too whiny, but I’d love to see her in something dimensional.

8 ) Adrianne Palicki

Where I fell in love with her: Friday Night Lights

What else she’s been in: Supernatural, Smallville, South Beach, Robot Chicken(!)

Minka Kelly grabs all the attention in Friday Night Lights, but I really want to see more of Tyra, Adrianne Palicki (her name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue like “Minka Kelly” though).

I actually think that Adrianne is the better actress, and the fact that her other roles have been relegated to bit parts in about a dozen different shows is a crime. Once FNL wraps, I hope she can make the jump to film.
