The Princess and the Frog Poster Reveals a Familiar Cast

I have to admit, I get a faint pang of nostalgia when I see a poster like this, a 2-D, hand-drawn adventure of a Disney princess. The six year-old girl inside me is very happy right now, but the male equivalent would be as if Nintendo 64 came out with another Zelda game or something. In the age of CGI and 3-D, I thought we were done with projects like this, but it’s nice to see that not every kids’ movie in the future is going to require me to wear goofy glasses.
I like how the cast has been recycled from various other animated projects. We’ve got the crocodile from Peter Pan (who’s put on a few pounds), the snake from Robin Hood/Jungle Book, the WB’s dancing frog, and the guy who used to tie Dudley Doright’s girlfriend to the railroad tracks, but just in case you couldn’t figure out he’s evil, he has conveniently placed a skull and crossbones on his hat for you.
