10 Fictional Movie Restaurants I Want to Eat At

Fictional Restaurants

It happens all the time when I watch a movie that looks like it has good food.  And not only good food, a fun environment.  Sometimes you’ll watch a scene and kind of wish you were a part of it.  Perhaps someone is eating a giant omelette or a cookie that just seems right.

All of a sudden you get a little hungry yourself and wish you could eat what they were eating.   And in other instances you kind of wish you could be where they are.

Whether it’s chowing down at a spinoff of Friday’s or eating the ‘Ol 96er, here are 10 fictional movie restaurants I’d like to eat at

Chotchkies in Office Space

Fictional Restaurants

If only just to go there and beat this guy up.

Gusteau’s in Ratatouille

Fictional Restaurants

Come on now.  You can’t mess with Linguini’s soup.  I have to try that thing.

Paul Bunyan’s in Great Outdoors

Fictional Restaurants

“He’s not done yet.”

Mooby’s in Kevin Smith Movies

Fictional Restaurants

I’m sure the food sucks but I want a little golden calf mascot to take home.

Big Kahuna Burger in Tarantino Films

Fictional Restaurants

Burgers there must be amazing.

Sal’s Famous in Do the Right Thing

Fictional Restaurants

I mean the whole damned town grew up on Sal’s pizza.

McDowells in Coming to America

Fictional Restaurants

“They got the golden arches, I got the golden arcs.”

Dorsia in American Psycho

Fictional Restaurants

It’s the hottest, most exclusive restaurant of the 80s in NYC.

Pig Burger from Better off Dead

Fictional Restaurants

It’s the dude from Porky’s.  Enough said.

The Frosty Palace in Grease

Fictional Restaurants

Have you seen what the malt shakes look like?  Amazing.

Bonus

Titty Twister in From Dusk Till Dawn

Fictional Restaurants

I couldn’t leave this out.  The atmosphere is just too good.  I mean if you discount the vampires trying to eat you and all.

Honorable Mention

*One could say The Diner in Diner but it’s a real place.  I would argue Clown Dog in Don’t tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead but that place looks nasty.  Also, any restaurant in Defending Your Life.

Big Kahuna Burger, sure, but the place to go in Pulp Fiction would be Jack Rabbit Slim’s! I want Buddy Holly to bring me a $5 shake!

Jack Rabbit Slims is real. Moobys in Clerks 2 was filmed by my house in Buena Park CA, it was an old Burger King.

@JT: A quick Google search has informed me that, while there are apparently a few other restaurants now called Jack Rabbit Slim’s, the restaurant as featured in the movie does not exist. (http://tinyurl.com/pb24j3)

So where was the Pig Burger actually filmed?

Paul Bunyan’s Cook Shanty is real. There are 2 in Wisconsin. I’m not sure if the Old 96er is real though. It has been a long time since I’ve eaten there. But I might be going to one in two weeks and if its on the menu I think I’ll have to order it.

My vote is for the restaurant at the end of the universe.
