20 Undeniably Awesome Mustaches in Movies

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that mustaches are making a comeback. I don’t think we’ll ever have the amazing ’staches that we did back in the 70s and 80s. However, I will say that it seems mustaches have been popping up back and forth in Hollywood over the last 5 years or so.
There’s something very special about a well defined mustache in a movie don’t you agree? In a way a mustache is like a prop. It tells you things about the character and makes you believe more about him than only his dialogue will allow.
It’s also quite badass when someone can grow a ’stache like some of these guys can. Whether it’s real or fake, here are 20 undeniably awesome mustaches in movies.
John Neville in Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Daniel Day Lewis in There will Be Blood

Sam Elliot in any movie (Big Lebowski featured here)

Sasha Baron Cohen in Borat

Colin Farrell in Miami Vice

Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind

Tom Selleck in Anything

Bruce McGill in Animal House

George Clooney in O Brother Where Art Thou?

Jeffrey Jones in Ferris Buelle’s Day Off

Michael Biehn in The Abyss

John Vukovich in Major League

Wilford Brimley - Any Movie

Charlie Chaplin - The Original

Brad Pitt in upcoming Inglorious Bastards

Cheech Marin from Cheech and Chong

Carl Weathers in Rocky

Great list but I would have picked Gangs of New York for the Daniel Day Lewis entry.
you forgot johnny depp
I love how Daniel Day-Lewis is up on the board more than once.
Man ‘There Will Be Blood” was amazing. Just watching the main character’s mental state deteriorate was so funny.
“I don’t know how long I can keep living like this with these…PEOPLE…mwuahahahaha!!”
Props for the Wilford Brimley mention. I would nominate Bernard Fox (Dr. Bombay / Bewitched) and Peter Ustinov (Poirot series) as honorable mentions for their great staches. Note, not the Suchet Poirot; his handlebars look like plastic fakes.
In Hot Rod Andy Sambergs mustache was fake…so does that really count?
You’re forgetting one of the best mustaches in movie history, Roger Livesey in “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp”
Ron Burgandy!
Inglorious Basterds**
I’d say Hugh Jackman should be on the list for his wolverine ’stache

The 70s are over. Only assholes have mustaches now.
You cannot leave out the cast of Anchorman, especially as mentioned above Mr. Ron Burgandy.
