For Their 25th Birthday, Ninja Turtles Get a New Movie

Published by under Movies,News

I’m not sure which is more shocking. The fact that there’s going to be a new Ninja Turtles movie, or that the Ninja Turtles have been around for 25 years.

In any case, both facts are true, but I’m guessing you want to know more about the movie than about the Turtles’ birthday party. Hint: It involves pizza.

I know you’re saying “But they just made a Ninja Turtles movie!” and you’re right, but that was CGI and it totally sucked. THIS project is a live-action origin story, it’s set to come out in 2011 and Peter Laird, the Turtles’ creator, is one of the producers.

Problem is, unless they get Guillermo Del Toro to do costumes, I’m willing to bet that the Turtles themselves will still be all sorts of creepy CGI, and presumably they’ll all be voiced by celebrities. Seth Rogen as Donatello! Jack Black as Leonardo!

Kick Ass Hit Girl Shot is Taking a Few Liberties

Published by under Images,Movies

kick-ass.jpg

Empire has this new shot of child assassin, Hit Girl, from the new Kick Ass adaptation. Yes, she looks like Britney Spears in that video, but the thing is, she’s 12, not 16, so by looking at this picture for more than two seconds you’ve already violated some sort of law if you reside in Utah or Maine.

What’s the most weird about this is that Hit Girl doesn’t even look like this, she looks like this:

Forget the New Wolf Pack, Bring Back the nWo

Published by under Movies,News

new-moon-wolf-pack.jpg

USA Today has the first photo of the Wolf Pack, set to be featured in the upcoming Twilight: New Moon movie and, just, wow.  I understand these movies are marketed with teenage girls in mind, but this photo looks like something you’d see in the Las Vegas airport.  Am I right?  Of course I am.  I’m right about everything.  For example, how much better would the new Twilight movie be without these losers and instead with the REAL wolf pack:

Answer: like infinity times better.

10 Interesting Interpretations of The Imperial March

Published by under Lists,Movies

Vader

Perhaps one of the most recognizable themes in movie history,  The Imperial March or sometimes referred to as “Darth Vader’s Theme” by John Williams will always be a staple in any fan of the Star Wars series.

It’s negative tone and almost ominous feel make the audience realize something evil is afoot.  And I must admit, God it sticks in your head after you hear it doesn’t it?

Well, just like folks have tinkered with the theme of Super Mario Brothers all these years, plenty have messed with the Imperial March.

Here are 10 pretty interesting versions of the Imperial March

The 10 Best Britain’s Got Talent Auditions

Published by under Lists,Television

britains-got-talent.jpg

All I seem to be hearing about the past few days is this woman named Susan Boyle, who is now apparently famous because she proved that you can be both ugly AND talented, as she demonstrated on Britain’s Got Talent.

But the show has been on for awhile now, and it has had its share of great moments before Ms. Boyle. Here are the ten most memorable, excluding her. If I was including her she would probably be at about three or four.

10 of the Most Memorable Swashbuckling Movie Pirates

Published by under Lists,Movies

 hookh.jpg

There’s certainly been a lot of talk in the news lately about pirates, and it’s somewhat comical to think that pirates actually exist.  The reason, of course, is because we’re used to seeing pirates portrayed as having a peg leg, an eye patch, and parrots on their shoulders.  Thus, it’s a bit surprising to see an emaciated Somalian boy referred to as a “pirate.”  With the recent news about pirates, I started thinking about pirates in movies, where they are stereotyped for the audience’s liking.  After the jump, take a look at 10 of the most memorable swashbucklers from the big screen.  Note:  one pirate per movie/series!  Arrrrrrrr!!!!  Scurvyyyy!!!!!  OK, I’ll stop.

The Morning Link: In Case you Missed “Chuck” the Other Night

Published by under Morning Link

Chuck

For those of you who are fans of the show Chuck (which I think is underrated by the way) I’m sure you’re well aware of who Yvonne Strahovski is.  Her character, Sarah, went kind of nuts trying to find Chuck’s father.

What ensued was one of those uncomfortable “having to share a bed” scenes in a motel.  Bottom line, we were treated to seeing Strahovski in her underwear.

Just thought I’d bring you that piece of sunshine today.
