If Celebrities Were Disney Legends
I saw the first three of these awhile ago in my October issue of Redbook, but I just discovered that Annie Leibovitz shot a whole bunch of these celebrities-ruining-your-childhood-memories Disney ads. I kid, some of them are actually pretty cool.

Cinderella – Scarlett Johansson
I’d say Johansson would put her acting skills to better use as Sleeping Beauty, who’s in a coma for 90% of her movie.
Prince Phillip – David Beckham
This one’s pretty awesome, but I think it would be even better if he was kicking the dragon in the face.
Alice – Beyonce, Mad Hatter – Oliver Platt, March Hare – Lyle Lovett
Beyonce? Alice isn’t black! Just kidding, Disney doesn’t have black princesses, so it’s alright if Leibovitz subs one in for them.
King Arthur – Roger Federer
Federer? Eh, sure OK. But I thought it was Orlando Bloom from far away.
Snow White – Rachel Weisz
No complaints about this one, I think it’s perfect and I don’t even like Rachel Weisz
Blue Fairy – Julie Andrews, Apprentice – Abigail Breslin
Did the blue fairy even have an apprentice? If this was five years ago we would have seen Haley Joel Osment as Pinocchio.
Pocahontas – Jessica Biel
God this one looks ridiculous. Someone tell Jessica Biel how to run like a normal person and someone else tell the photoshop department to make the deer look less like a hunting decoy.
Wendy – Gisele Bundchen, Peter Pan -Mikhail Baryshnikov, Tinker Bell – Tina Fey
First, Gisele is WAY too hot to be Wendy. Second, who the hell is Mikhail what’s-his-face? Third, Tina Fey as Tinker Bell? She doesn’t even talk in the damn movie! You need something tiny, blonde and with nothing to say. Try Lauren Conrad.
Jasmine – Jennifer Lopez, Aladdin – Marc Anthony
Sure, if Aladdin was taking place in Mexico, this would be perfect. I’m going with Dev Patel and Mila Kunis for the inevitable live action remake of this.
The Genie – Whoopi Goldberg
I actually wish they just made this Robin Williams in blue makeup.

Mikhail Baryshnikov played Carrie’s six season love interest in season six of Sex and the City, notably known for being much OLDER than her.
…This defeats the whole meaning of Peter Pan.
Ok, so I was going to comment on the “who the hell is Mikhail what’s-his-face?” comment (he’s only about the most famous ballet dancer of the 20th century, and I don’t even know or care the first bit about ballet and I still know that) but then I saw Carmen’s comment up there about Sex and the City and now I just CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IS EVEN TRUE. Ugh.
Being a girl I have to point out: the dresses on Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Alice, the Blue Fairy, and Pocahontas are correct (or close enough), so why couldn’t they get J-Lo in the correct Jasmine outfit?

As for the Peter Pan thing you got that one all wrong. As much as I like Gisele she is no “Wendy” You have to pick a redhead for that and a more “motherly girl” than Gisele (remember Wendy used to read stories to her brothers)
And the pick for Peter Pan was wrong. I see Peter Pan as being more like Shia LaBeouf.
Jasmine does seem a little off. Snow White is awesome, and Phillip is well done.

Really? Mila Kunis as Jasmine? I would have picked Aishwarya Rai. But then again Mila has a voice that makes me want to rupture my own ear drums.

Tia Carrere from Waynes World would make THE BEST Pocahontas I think.
They managed to make Rachel Weisz look really good, best pic by far.

They may not be the right race for the parts, but Lopez and Anthony are a lot closer than the characters in the Disney cartoon. They appear more Caucasian than anything, and don’t even have accents, even though they’re in the Middle East.
Why the Hell is Pocahontas white???
