Play The Onion’s Close Range FPS for Yourself

You haven’t heard of Close Range? Why it’s only the hot new FPS IP that’s sweeping the nation, courtesy of The Onion. Gameplay consists of a few text boxes of dialogue (throwbacks to the “Are you a bad enough dude to save the president?” days) and levels that consist of shooting people (and sometimes animals) in the face at point blank range.

As far as I know, it’s The Onion’s first real foray into video games, and it does its job as a parody of hyper-violent games nicely. Close Range is what most clueless adults think that video gaming is all about, and I highly suggest you watch the accompanying news report that goes along with the game.

Play it here.
