The Final Countdown: Eastern Promises Sequel, Google’s Credit Issues, and Amateur Music Videos

Published by under Final Countdown

Promises

Click on the photo to read up on the sequel

Director David Cronenberg, the master behind recent films like A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, has said that he’s interested for the first time in his career in doing a sequel.   Does anyone think this is a good idea?  I mean the nude bathroom scene was enough right?  Come on now.  This can’t be good.

Drag Me to Hell Poster is Your Daily Dose of Demonic Groping

Published by under Movies

drag-me.jpg

You’ve already seen the absurd trailer, now see the equally absurd poster in all it’s three-handed demon groping glory.

It doesn’t look like they’re trying very hard, they actually kind of look like they’re giving her a massage. And she looks like she’s really, really enjoying it.

Side note: Sam Raimi really freaked me out during Spiderman 3. I don’t know if I can trust him again.

If Pac-Man Obeyed The Laws Of Physics

Published by under Oddly Enough,Video Games

 pac.jpg

From technabob (via Geekologie) comes this version of Pac-Man where the gravity is switched off.  Pills, power pellets and ghosts float around chaotically, and the game becomes something that no longer has any relation to the original.  You can download the game by clicking HERE, but for the same effect, just play the original version while high on salvia.

Postal 3 Trailer is Shock, Awe and Segways

Published by under Video Games

of the most controversial games of all time is getting a third chapter, and judging by this absolutely ludacrous trailer, should be everything the previous two games were and more.We only get a glimpse of the absurd weaponry used in the series. Highlights include doing drive-bys on a Segway (this game must have been made while it was still hip to make fun of those) and also there’s the “badger-on-a-harness” weapon which presumably replaces the “cat silencer” as the absurd animal related carnage maker in the game.No word on when this is actually coming out, but I predict it’ll be about seven days before a congressional hearing on video game violence.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs to Feature Dancing?!?

Published by under Movies

cloudy-chance-meatballs-pos.jpg

3-D or not, don’t tell me to prepare to get served.  My crew and I have been battling since the 8th grade; I will pop and lock all over a frosted a doughnut.  I thought that Step Up 2 would be the last dance movie we’d see for awhile, but I guess I was wrong.  I will be wearing my Adidas jumpsuit and will be bringing a sheet of cardboard to the theater for this one.  Served my ass.  Maybe I’ll even ask Sonny to come with me.

Also, those are some big f*cking meatballs.

This Could Be a New Phenomenon: Smashing Stuff Parties

Published by under Oddly Enough

Smashing Stuff

For no reason whatsoever I was messing around with search on Flickr only to type in “Smashed Television.”  I think I was looking for pictures of vintage TV’s all banged up.  Who knows.  I thought they might look cool.  What I ended up finding was this gallery of two kids who decided to take out their anger on a bunch of electronics Office Space style.

Then I got to thinking.  Wouldn’t this be a fun movement for gamers everywhere?   Like taking your old systems and video game crap that’s pissed you off over the years and throwing a party to smash all of it?

Personally I think it would be a hoot.  Gather the whole neighborhood, make a barbecue, get drunk and then take hammers and smash all this stuff to bits.

Take a look

20 Different Iterations of Sackboy

Published by under Images,Lists,Video Games

sack21.jpg

He’s the most adorable video game mascot since Pikachu, and he’s leading Sony into the new millenium with burlap and zippered cuteness. Sackboy is the closest thing Sony has to an icon, and the customization properties of his game, Little Big Planet, have often been carried over to the creature himself.

Here are twenty such examples:

10 Awesome Music Videos Directed By Film Directors

Published by under Lists,Movies

 buddy.jpg

About a week ago, I posted 10 music videos directed by David Fincher.  I’m sure you knew, however, that Fincher isn’t the only film director who has dabbled in the craft of directing music videos.  If you’re trying to create a lasting image that simultaneously entertains the viewer and supplements the featured song in the video, it makes sense that you’d want someone who has an eye for atmosphere, symbolism, or, if those aren’t your bag, a kick ass dance sequence.  Some of the directors in this article directed music videos before their movie careers took off; others took time away from their film careers to get back to the medium of music videos.  After the jump, have a look at 10 awesome videos directed by film directors:

The Morning Link: Toaster Nintendo Can’t Make Toast

Published by under Morning Link

Toaster

I’ve seen game system modifications and then I’ve seen some game system modifications.  I guess when your old 8-Bit Nintendo is somewhat out of date you have a couple of options on what to do with it.

Some people throw it away and some decide to “restore” it.  But I think it’s safe to say I’ve never seen someone make a toaster out of their Nintendo.

Some people have WAY too much time on their hands.
