Can someone please explain what the hell happened to Mila Kunis since That 70s Show?  Did anyone catch her in Forgetting Sarah Marshall?  The girl is now a woman, and a very hot woman at that.  And now she’s talking WoW?  Can this chick get any better?  I highly doubt that’s possible.

Peter Moore Dares Us to Find Flaws with New Madden Screen

Published by Paul Tassi under Images, Video Games

President of EA Sports, Peter Moore, is super excited about Madden ‘10, which surprise, has better graphics than all the other Madden games. He posted this official screenshot on his blog, along with high praise and a challenge for anyone to find fault with it.

While we have a number of announcements and updates to come over the next several weeks leading up to next month’s NFL Draft, I’m excited to debut the first screenshot from this year’s game right here this week. The old adage says, “A picture is worth a thousand words”, and that is certainly true in this fantastic shot. How many improvements can you pick out? The Madden dev team will call each one out in their blog later this week.

Um, well for starters, Big Ben’s biceps are totally bigger than that. What? I’m just saying…

It feels like just yesterday I was picking up Madden ‘01 for the PS2 and watching the rendered players in awe. I wonder what we’ll be seeing in another eight years.

Periodic Table of Xbox Games

Published by Madison under Oddly Enough, Video Games

 hocperiodictableofxbox_1preview.jpg

Blackwalt over at Herd of Cats cooked up this very cool Periodic Table of Xbox games.  The “periodic table” seems to be an increasingly popular fad and I am definitely a fan.  Maybe it’s because I’m very into structure and organization.  I once stabbed my roommate in the face for putting my coffee cup with the drinking glasses.

You can check out the full-sized version HERE, and read a description of all the games that made it into the table HERE.  I am glad to see one of my favorite games ever made it in under “Ni,” or nickel.

Maybe one of these days I’ll throw together a periodic table of adult film stars.  The impressive sad thing is that I could actually do that pretty easily.

Dungeon Masters Poster Hides the Nerds

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

dungeons.jpg

Alright, so I may have been too busy scoring goals and banging chicks in high school to play Dungeons and Dragons (or maybe I was just playing video games, not sure), but was there really a creepy elf head thing attached to a rolly-chair? Because if so, damn, I guess I missed out.

I guess the alternate poster, of three overweight nerds sitting around a table, wasn’t exactly going to bring out the audience in droves.

Actually though, I would be interested in seeing this, even though I’m sure it’s going to be playing at exactly two theaters in this hemisphere. I imagine it’s going to be be something like King of Kong, but with more acne.

New Astro Boy Promo Art

Published by Madison under Movies, Posters

astro-boy-soul.jpg

Of all places, MTV has this exclusive new Astro Boy promo art.  When you think MTV, you think exclusive posters, right?  Because I sure as hell don’t think about music videos.  God forbid they’d play videos on MTV again.  For awhile, they’d actually show small clips of videos on TRL, but even that seemed to be too much to ask of a network that calls itself Music Television.  Instead, we get ridiculous, unwatchable, clearly scripted shows where different kids are examined by the parents of the boy or girl they want to date, or some other equally heinous crap that does nothing but contribute to the already massive decline in our country’s level of education.

Getting back to Astro Boy, it’s cool to see that he, too, is powered by technology from Stark Industries.

10 Forrest Gump Mashups For No Reason At All

Published by Nattyb under Movies

Gump

Oh I don’t know.  Could it be that Forrest Gump has been on HBO 1700 times this year that I eventually had to do some kind of article on the movie?  I swear to God, I love the movie Forrest Gump but if I have to scroll through the channels only to see one more damned scene it’s going to ruin me.

And while I still think it’s a good movie, I also realize how much spoof potential it had.  It’s too bad it didn’t come out recently because I would imagine the trailer spoof genre would have been much better.

But since we’re working with what we’ve got, here are 10 pretty Solid Gump Trailer mashups.

Unreal Movie Review: I Love You, Man

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Reviews

love2.jpg

“Bromance,” as I’m forced to call it, has been something of a central theme in the great comedy hits of recent memory. It was at the forefront of Superbad and Pinneapple Express, and even snuck its way into Knocked Up, a movie that was supposed to be about anything but guy bonding.

But here we are, the topic is finally at its breaking point so they devoted an entire film to it with no pretense of subplot, and I’m just glad they didn’t actually call the thing “Bromance,” although I guess Brody Jenner already had a trademark on that one.

Peter (Paul Rudd) is getting married to Zooey (Rashida Jones), but all his life he’s never had any real guy friends. This becomes an issue once he realizes that his side of the wedding party will be completely empty. He enlists the help of his gay brother (Andy Samberg), his mom and online matchmaking services to try and find a male friend to be his best man.

Unreal Movie Vault: Let The Right One In (2008)

Published by Madison under Movie Vault, Movies, Reviews

 lettherightonein.jpg

As I may have mentioned before, one of the best things about living in Manhattan is the chance to see foreign and indie films that are released only in New York and Los Angeles.  I had heard great things about the Swedish film Lat Den Ratte Komma In (Let The Right One In), so I was very excited to see that it was playing in a small theater right downstairs from my apartment.  The movie had been released in 2008, but I missed my chance to see it, so I was lucky that my neighborhood theater chose to show it again.  Very lucky, actually - Let The Right One In can be considered the best vampire movie ever made, but even classifying it as a “vampire movie” undermines the film as a whole.  Read the rest of my review after the jump.

The Morning Link: Supervillains That Were Actually OK Guys

Published by Nattyb under Morning Link

Magneto

Don’t get anyone wrong here.  The actions that most, if not all supervillains perform are generally unacceptable and cause irreversible damage.  However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t some good child waiting to get out of these sordid and abused characters.

Most times these guys can’t help who they are and there is an abundance of excuses as to why they are the way they are.  So when you get down to their core beings, they’re really just like us…I guess.

Here are 6 supervillains that are OK guys
