The Final Countdown: Video Game Wallpapers, The Busty Ringtone, and a Giant Japanese Schoolgirl

Published by Nattyb under Final Countdown

Mario

I’m not quite into the video game wallpaper idea but hey, if it’s your thing then there you go.  Other than that, I just watched the movie The Wizard the other day.  Man does that bring back memories.  Remember how amazing it was to see Super Mario 3 and it hadn’t been released yet?  Money.

Samuel L. Jackson Signs With Marvel…for NINE MOVIES

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies,News

jackson.jpg

Look Sam, I know you’re trying to set the world record for “Most Onscreen Appearances Ever,” but was it really necessary to sign with Marvel for NINE movies playing Nick Fury?

Apparently, Jackson is set to don the eyepatch in Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, the S.H.I.E.L.D. movie and any sequels that any of these movies spawn. Good lord.

See here’s the thing, I like Samuel L. Jackson, but I’ll be damned if I can remember the last time he was good in a something. He’s been in tons of sh*t during his film career, and I don’t mean sh*t in the “stuff” sense, I mean literal sh*t. Brace yourself, because this is about to turn into a rant:

Street Fighter IV Femme Fatale Downloadable Costumes

Published by Madison under News,Video Games

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sotv3esWhAg

Starting tomorrow (for the Xbox), you can download the Femme Fatale package for Street Fighter IV, which provides new costumes for all the game’s women.  Some aren’t much different, but the new Chun Li and Cammy costumes are hot.  You can watch the video above to check out all the costumes and then decide whether or not it’s worth the Microsoft points just to have a different top above Cammy’s g-string.  For me, if they ain’t showing skin, I ain’t ponying up.

Evilution Poster is Ridiculous

Published by Madison under Movies,News

evilution-poster.jpg

If you think this poster is absurd (and if you don’t, wow), that’s nothing compared to the story, as summarized on the movie’s official site.  Imagine this poster, but put into words by a 12-year-old on cocaine.  That’s pretty much your plot.

10 Nintendo Commercials from the 80s to Bring You Back

Published by Nattyb under Lists,Video Games

Rob

Remember actually buying your first Nintendo system?  It’s funny because I can’t.  But I do remember selling my Nintendo gaming system to someone for 70 bucks, which at the time was a total ripoff because the damned thing barely worked anymore.  There was more blowing on the cartridges and pushing the power button than one could possibly imagine.

If there’s one thing I don’t really remember about Nintendo it was the commercials.  I used to always find out about games through friends and magazines, but for the life of me, I just don’t recall seeing anything on television.

So I decided to take a look to find some Nintendo commercials from the 80s that would remind me of the ever growing popularity the gaming system had back then.

Hope you enjoy

Where are They Now? – The Cast of Firefly

Published by Paul Tassi under Lists,Television

firefly-cast.jpg

Welcome to a segment I’m creatively calling “Where are They Now?” where I look back at the casts of yours and my favorite now-deceased shows to see where they landed after the curtains closed. Some have rocketed to fame, whereas others we’ve never heard from again. In this week’s installment for the Whedon prematurely executed masterpiece Firefly, we’ve got a little of both. Read on:

What Gives? The Only Six Black NES Characters I Could Find

Published by Madison under Lists,Video Games

 nintendo-nes-box.jpg

From time to time, I try to write my articles in accordance with a theme or holiday.  I realized that I hadn’t done anything for Black History Month, and so I got to thinking about black video game characters.  After some reminiscing and researching, I discovered that there are very few.  With modern games and customizable options, though, black characters are becoming more prevelant, and this is likely a trend that will continue.  Still, looking back to the days of the 8-bit NES, black characters were rarer than female ones.  Off the top of your head, can you name even three?  Not so easy, is it?  I’m not including real-life athletes in this list of black NES characters (sorry, Bo Jackson and Mike Tyson), which made it even more difficult to compile.  Anyway, after the jump, take a look at six – yes, sadly, there’s just six – black characters from NES games.

Morning Link: Square Enix hits Final Fantasy replica dealers for $600,000 in damage

Published by Nattyb under Morning Link

Fantasy

A fistful of Final Fantasy counterfeiters recently found their hit points squelched by a summon of the judicial kind. Square Enix announced that it reached a settlement in its federal lawsuit against “at least” four online retailers of unlicensed Final Fantasy knock-offs, primarily sword replicas, netting the role-playing giant a hefty 600,000 gil dollar judgment.

Man I wish I could get 600K for stores trying to knock off my penis.  Too bad those would be in the little boys department.

The Final Countdown: Extended Watchmen Footage, Where is Jack, and a Father Pole Dancing

Published by Nattyb under Final Countdown

Rorschach

I’m gonna go ahead and say that for all the hype Watchmen is getting, this movie better damned well deliver.  I mean I remember seeing a trailer for this thing over a year before it’s release date (which happens to be my birthday).  Right now I’m 50/50 on this movie being good.   It’s a tough call but wow, so much money spent on advertising already.
