Zack Snyder to Follow Watchmen with Sucker Punch, Unnecessary Slow-Motion
Watchmen director Zack Snyder recently told collider.com about his next movie, Sucker Punch:
Takes place in the late 60’s and it’s about a girl that’s been committed to an insane asylum and she fantasizes that she can escape and she has these crazy adventures in her mind where she goes into the past and into the future. Says he really wanted to make an action movie and this is it.
I’m not sold on this “visionary” director just yet. Dawn of the Dead was a pretty awesome zombie movie, but 300 was hollow and bereft of any real substance. Watchmen could really, really suck and be nothing more than a bunch of colorful, stylistic scenes thrown together without any regard for character depth. If that’s the case, nobody’s going to give a crap about Sucker Punch. Man, I’m negative.
