The Night Projectionist Coming to the Big Screen
From Variety comes the news that the horror comic The Night Projectionist will be adapted into a feature film:
Myriad Pictures is reteaming with comicbook publisher Studio 407 to bring the horror series “The Night Projectionist” to the bigscreen.
“Projectionist” marks the second title produced under Studio 407’s first-look deal with Myriad — the first being the comicbook “Hybrid,” which is tentatively scheduled to begin production later this year.
Story takes place on Halloween Eve in a small-town movie theater, where an all-night Draculathon draws throngs of moviegoers who suddenly find themselves locked inside the theater, which is slowly filling with vampires.
A theater filled with vampires sounds pretty scary, but enough with the vampire sh*t already. It’s getting out of hand. How about a movie about a theater filled with Frankenstein monsters? And not the type of Frankenstein monster as featured in the classic horror films; I want a theater packed with Phil Hartmans screaming “Fire bad!” Mark my words, this is the next big trend.
