New Watchmen Trailer Gets Political, Has Tons of New Footage
Oh, did I mention it’s in Japanese? Ah well, it’s still worth a viewing as you can imagine what the voice-over is saying, “In a time of war…” etc, etc. The trailer meant for Japanese audiences focuses very heavily on the political aspects of the novel/movie and there are frequent shots of the Kremlin, Nixon and JFK. Much of Watchmen is reliant on the Vietnam era, and Japan is near Vietnam, so I guess count that mystery solved.
I’m still very skeptical of the dialogue in this movie. Like in these trailers when everything is in slow motion and some Muse song is playing in the background, everything looks amazing, but once people start talking? Ehh. Nixon sounds like a cartoon chracter in this trailer, which is nearly as bad as Dr. Manhattan’s less-than-godlike (read: pansy) voice in previous trailers.
