I hadn’t heard anything about the movie “9,” directed by Shane Acker. It’s got an all-star cast lending voices to the action, and the animation is simply gorgeous. How is this movie not getting more buzz? This could be the next great cult classic. I’m pumped.
I’m not a big fan of Christmas. It’s a time of the year when I feel alienated from the rest of society and cable television is littered with sappy Christmas movies. Maybe you have to grow up celebrating Christmas to appreciate them, but almost every Christmas movie sucks. There are some great ones, though, and even Jewish dudes like me can get into the Christmas spirit after watching. Here are five great Christmas movies that stand out from the rest of the craptastic genre:
2008 was a great year in gaming. Of all the industries that seem to be doing so poorly, video game keep on truckin’. So why stop at 2008? It sure seems like 2009 is going to be a banner year for games.
The UK’s Nintendo Magazine site has come up with a pretty sweet list for games that will kick ass in 2009. Hope you enjoy the read.
How. The. Hell. I’ve no idea what it takes to make an entire video made up of in-game animations like this, but this is one of the coolest fan-made video game movies I’ve ever seen. It’s got better action than most movies I’ve seen this year, and a nice soundtrack to boot. And the guy was so nervous to show it too. Look:
This is only the second personal creative work I’ve ever posted so I’m a bit nervous about it. The first being an image I painted years ago which…um… we don’t talk about. It’s a bit nerve-wracking to post creative work for others to judge.
I’ve thought about making this a series but I’m faced with an impending layoff so my future is unclear. If I get a positive reaction I’m sure I’ll be working on something else in the future.
So uh, raise your hand if you think he should make more? Oh, all 200,000 of you who have watched it in the last three days? I thought so.

Welcome to the Eastern Conference of the Queen of the Iron Fist Tournament. After this round, there will only be eight competitors remaining, so without any further ado, let’s get to it!
“War” is the most violent – and therefore, maybe the best – Aeon Flux animated short. Every time I see the dude with the sword, I feel all funny in my pants. Watch the above clip and you’ll see why. That said, I still think I like “Leisure” the best of all the shorts, and if I ever manage to find it, I’ll be sure to post it for you guys.
And here we are. At the pinnacle moment. The Dark Path Chronicles part 2! Dum Dum Dummmmmmm! Prepare yourselves people. What are you about to witness is sheer poo. Poo of the worst kind.
But poo that is analyzed to perfection. So enjoy the show.
Here’s another Aeon Flux short, and this one’s called gravity. Great animation in the opening scene, and you have to love how Aeon dies in this one. Peter Chung is a twisted dude. Does anyone know what he’s up to nowadays? I need my fix of violence.
A few weeks ago our man Sub Zero brought you an article that featured some pretty bad ass XBox Case mods. So I figure since Mr. Zero is sitting on his lazy behind this holiday season, that I’d do him the honor of following that up with some pretty interesting case mods from another system: The Nintendo Wii.
I still find it amazing how some of you gamers out there seem to outdo yourselves. But not only that. You take inordinate amounts of time to set up your game systems to have their own “personalities.”
I mean don’t they all function the same way? Eh, whatever. Here are 15 interesting Nintendo Wii Case Mods.
I’ve posted a clip from The Whitest Kids U Know before, but here are a bunch more clips to entertain you. Most sketch comedy shows these days aren’t very good, but these guys have at minimum a couple of exceptionally funny clips per episode. Enjoy a collection of hilarious clips from The Whitest Kids U Know. The Dinosaur Rap is pretty easily my fave.
