The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed that Hugh Jackman will host the 81st Academy Awards on February 22, 2009.  This should be a nice change of pace from the usual, vanilla stand-up comedians that have hosted the event in years past.  Chris Rock was pretty funny, actually, but at least with Jackman we won’t have to suffer through an event hosted by someone like Billy Crystal or, even worse, Robin Williams.  Hey, I can talk real fast and did a ton of coke in the 70s and am hairier than a blind gorilla covered in glue in a fur coat factory!  Yeah, I’m definitely relieved by looking forward to Jackman hosting.  The above pic is for the ladies (and Nattyb).
