The Wrestler Trailer Earns Mickey Rourke an Oscar Nom

Published by Paul Tassi at 8:02 am under Movies, Trailers

There’s perhaps no movie getting as much buzz right now as Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler. The tagline of the moment is from Newsweek which proclaims the film as “The resurrection of Mickey Rourke,” and now with the first trailer being released, I’m leaning towards agreeing with that statement, despite the fact I was unaware Mickey Rourke had died. You can tell the thing’s going to be heart-wrenching, and I really hope he doesn’t die of brain hemorrhage or something at the end, because I can easily see that happening.

Fun fact: did you know Aronofsky is also directing a Wahlberg-Pitt project titled The Fighter for 2009? First wrestling, now boxing? What ever happened to exciting premises like evil number conspiracies and time traveling Conquistadors?
