Brett Ratner Shelves Beverly Hills Cop 4 in Favor of Conan
“His biceps would conquer worlds.”
It seems that Brett Ratner wants to put his tried and true formula of “funny black cop and friend” from Rush Hour on hiatus and trade it in for his lesser known “super strong people being strong” plot last seen in X-Men: The Last Stand. That’s why he’s putting off production on Beverly Hills Cop IV (with presumably Eddie Murphy attached) in favor of making Conan the Barbarian first. Oh sorry, it’s just called “Conan” now.
Unfortunately the movie will probably not be about the late night comedy host judging from the sinew-filled poster, and will instead probably be “Brett Ratner presents 300,” with a bunch of muscle-bound sweaty guys running around cracking jokes based on racial stereotypes. “Hah! You reason this is the type of music Cimmerians listen to? You are in fact mistaken!”
