A Compilation of Wilhelm Screams

Published by Madison at 12:00 pm under Movies

According to Wikipedia (which is ALWAYS accurate, right?), the Wilhelm Scream is a repeatedly used film and television stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the film Distant Drums.  I never realized how widespread this scream was, and it appears that George Lucas is a big fan, too.  Enjoy a compilation of repeated screaming by viewing the above clip.  The Howard the Duck scene gave me a semi.

I remember asking a filmmaker friend of mine about this exact scream years ago, as I had noticed it in many a movie (predominantly the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.)
