Remember Casey Jones From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Here are 5 Other Movies He’s In Where He’s Awesome

Published by under Movies

Elias Koteas

We all remember the long hair hockey stick swinging Casey Jones from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles right?  Well if you don’t, you should.  His name is Elias Koteas and he happens to be a pretty good actor.

Aside from his name being very cool, Koteas has been acting since 1985 and has seen his fair share of roles.  At present time you’ve probably seen him on television in CSI but he’ll be in Fincher’s sure hit The Curious Case of Benjamin Button as Monsieur Gateau.

In any event, Koteas is a pretty versatile actor and here are 5 movies that I think are worth seeing, if only to see his performance in them.

Witness the Realest: Ninja Warrior

Published by under Television

The above clip is from the amazing Japanese gameshow Ninja Warrior.  If you haven’t been watching this show, you need to start.  It’s not silly like Extreme Elimination Challenge; mastery of the Ninja Warrior obstacle courses involves tons of training and phenomenal athleticism.

The dudes on American Gladiators don’t have anything on the top competitors on Ninja Warrior.  I want to try out for this show so bad.  If I made it past the first stage of any course, I’d brag about it for months.

War Machine Concept Art Needs Some Work

Published by under Movies

war_machine_1

That’s the saddest little gatling gun I’ve ever seen.

Here’s some recently dug up concept art that Phil Saunders did for the original Iron Man film before it was decided that War Machine wouldn’t actually be making an appearance.

But rumor has it that Iron Man’s colorless cousin will have a larger role in the sequel, even though Terrence Howard has been unceremoniously booted off the project and replaced by Don Cheadle.

I remember War Machine as “Blue Iron Man” when I used him in Marvel vs. Capcom for the original Playstation. I also remember him looking a hell of a lot cooler than this in 2-D with imposing armor plating and gun barrels poking out of every orifice. Check out two other suit variations after the jump. The underwater one is just awkward. Hopefully they’ll shape things up before he makes his big screen debut in 2010.

Man Crush: Six Kick-Ass Michael Biehn Movie Roles

Published by under Movies

biehn.jpg

Michael Biehn has gotten some of the greatest roles in movie history, especially when you consider sci-fi and action movies.  I feel like most movie-watchers would just give you a blank stare if you asked them who Michael Biehn was, but almost everyone knows him as the guy who fought Arnold in The Terminator.

Well, I want to give this guy his due.  Here’s a look at six of Biehn’s roles, all of which kick insane amounts of ass.  In each and every one of these roles, at some point in the respective movie, Biehn uses or has a deadly weapon.  Which I can relate to — I had to register my fists with the government.  Here’s to Michael Biehn:

The Seven Sickest Ways to Die in “Dead Space”

Published by under Video Games

dead_space_2

Dead Space is about one thing: death. And while that may not be much of a surprise for most horror fans, there has never been a game that showcases the failure to live quite like this.

Not content with most games’ standard “fall-down-and-fade-to-black” demise, Dead Space aims to show a variety of ways your body might react when assaulted by electricity, fire, meteorites, angry aliens and heavy machinery.

All in all there are probably around two dozen different ways to die in the game, but I’ve showcase the 6 most memorable after the jump:

Clint Eastwood’s “Gran Torino” Trailer Proves Old People Can Kick Ass Too

Published by under Movies

Gran Torino

“Hey you kids, off my lawn!”

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this Gran Torino trailer (after the jump), which on first glance is the story of an old man and his ongoing quest to scowl as hard as he possibly can. However, when Clint Eastwood pulls a shotgun on Chinese Triads brawling in his front yard, you begin to think this thing might have legs. The premise of “old guy vs. flippant youth gang” isn’t crazy original, but it looks better than say, Kevin Bacon going on the warpath against Neo-Nazis in Death Sentence.

Gran Torino hits theaters December 12th.

Unreal Moment: Salma Hayek Dancing in From Dusk Till Dawn

Published by under Movies

I know that From Dusk Till Dawn is a preposterous movie, but it’s also one of my favorites.  Salma Hayek dancing while wearing next to nothing before she turns into a vampire and feasts on the Titty Twister’s patrons doesn’t hurt, either.  Enjoy this clip of Salma shaking her child-bearing hips and making me wish I was that snake.  I’d bite her boobies!

The Five Most Evil Corporations on TV

Published by under Television

lex_luthor_2

With all this talk about corporate greed on Wall St. ruining the country, I thought it was time to point out that we could be a lot worse off. AIG may be a bunch of douchebags, but I doubt their actions will actually lead to the physical destruction of the world. These five fictional corporations are the worst of the worst, trying to dominate the world landscape with genetic engineering, contracted assassination and time travel and they make Freddie May and Fannie Mac look like the Salvation Army.

Classic Photos from 9 of Stanley Kubrick’s Masterpieces

Published by under Movies

Kubrick Movie Photos

Stanley Kubrick is arguably one of the best directors that America has seen in the last 100 years. His ability to take a story and tie in critical elements including dialogue, music, and use of the camera mark some of the best originality that I’ve ever seen in a director.

I mean who would have thought to attach Beethoven’s 9th with a psychopathic killer’s violent tirade? Who would attach the song “Going to the Chapel” with a scene that takes place Vietnam?  It’s this type of wackiness, yet “makes sense” kind of approach that separated him from the rest of the pack.

But perhaps some of the most memorable moments in Kubrick’s movies came also from the physical locations and facial expressions of some of the actors.

Here are some classic still shots from 9 of Kubrick’s movies.

Wii Graphics So Bad They “Can’t Even Handle Resident Evil 5′s Title Screen”

Published by under Video Games

Zombie

Graaar! Look at…my…texture mapping!

As excited as I was to shake zombies off myself with an unmistakeably masturbatory motion in RE5 for the Wii, it looks like that dream will never be realized.

In a recent interview with Resident Evil 5‘s producer, Masachika Kawata, he buried rumors of a Wii port when he said that due to the graphical advancements of 5 over 4, “the title screen of this couldn’t have been done on PS2 or Wii.”

Oh snap Wii! Kawata just said you had PS2 graphics. What are you gonna do about that? Oh, just stand there, batting your eyelashes, looking adorable? Figures.

This news sucks because Resident Evil 4 was one of the few games for the Wii that I would categorize as “an actual video game” and with more titles like Wii Resort and Wii Music on the horizon, it looks like my sad little Nintendo system will be collecting dust a little while longer.

And just as reminder, only the Wii could possibly make killing zombies look cute and campy (after the jump):
