10 of the Saddest Video Game Costumes Ever
It’s Halloween once again, and every year a dedicated segment of nerds try to go to their favorite games for costume inspiration. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ll be focusing on the latter. Check out the gallery after the jump of the worst video game costumes I could find.
1. Bowser (Super Mario Bros.)
Overlooking the contradictions of a “plush” spiked tortoise shell, it’s the Carrot Top wig that elicits a big ol WTF?
2. Dante (Devil May Cry)
Here Dante looks more like the Pick Up Artist than a fearless demon slayer. He always was quite the diva though wasn’t he?
3. Isaac (Dead Space)
Here Isaac brandishes his trusty weapon a…large piece of bread?
4. Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
Well, there’s a beret, and a gun, and a teal shirt, but um, I think there might have been one other requirement…
5. Link (The Legend of Zelda)
It’s exceptionally hard to make Link look even MORE feminine that he does in the games. Bra-vo sir…or madam.
6. Master Chief (Halo)
The helmet is decent, but the cardboard/life jacket armor is a bit sketch. And the “SMG” looks like two guns involved in a tragic head-on collision.
7. Mega Man (Mega Man)
Just…no.
8. Big Daddy and Little Sister (Bioshock)
This Bioshock duet looks more like Steampunk Dorothy and the Tin Man than anything else.
9. Samus Aran (Metroid)
I thought this was an amputee from Road Rash, but no, it’s Samus Aran. A bit more red would have gone a long way here.
10. Pikachu (Pokemon)
Ever wonder what it would look like if you skinned Pikachu and made him an iPod cover?

This isn’t a very good list. None of these are really terrible. All of them are either meant to be goofy (like the Mega Man one, which wasn’t actually bad at all - or do you have a problem with him being black?), not meant to be professional, or clearly works in progress (like the first big daddy pic - maybe you should do your research next time).
Or maybe you should stop making shitty lists all together.
