Weekend Webcomics

It’s week three of this new feature that will occupy you guys a bit on weekends while we’re away. I’ve assembled some of my favorite webcomics below, and when you click on the banners, they’ll take you to the latest issue of each. I could have just ripped all of them to post here as some sites do with features like this, but I don’t think that’s very nice to the artists whose entire sites revolve around these comics.

If you think there are specific comics I’m missing that should be included in this feature, I’m all ears. Just make sure they update at least weekly. I can’t feature them all, but the comments section has turned into a good cache of choices as well. Enjoy:

I’ve added a few on request!

  • Connor

You missed one of the best comics ever. It has FOOSH and richard.

  • Dave

It might just be me but the phone adverts that this site has been running for the last couple of days are cutting into my visible screen and lopping off the first word from every line.

Love the site, but right now it’s completely unreadable for me.

  • Andy

    The Adventures of Dr. McNinja

    Manly Guys Doing Manly Things

I read a whole bunch more but these are some that I really like. And I agree with Connor, Looking For Group is hilariously awesome.

Cyanide and Happiness is one of the funniest webcomics out there.

  • Hey guys, these phone ads aren’t showing up for me, so I’m not sure what this looks like, but I’ll look into it. If you’re able to take a screenshot of what’s going on, email me at paul@unrealitymag.com, or if you could, just say where exactly these ads are on the page.

I stopped reading VG Cats a while ago. Scott hardly ever updates anymore, maybe one new comic every two months. Pretty disappointing since it used to be so good.

I’d like to recommend Amazing Super Powers to everyone out there. Currently my favorite webcomic: http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/

  • Ailise

Similar to xkcd and pretty popular.

A pretty new comic about Starcraft 2 related stuff (pretty funny)

Another funny one from some Swedish guys šŸ™‚

  • Alex

Another great video game webcomic that updates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is Ctrl-Alt-Del

  • Rudy

    Romantically Apocalyptic!
Pretty unreal if you ask me šŸ˜›

  • Sal

    Cat and Girl
Not about video games but often quite odd and questioning about what the modern life is about.

Wall of text comics but still quite good.

  • Josh

    I disagree with Dueling Analogs.
I stumbled on it once, and read a fair few of the comics, and to be honest, it’s not funny. Like there’s a series of comics where basically all it is, is a random assortment of spherical things and he goes “LOL THEY’RE LIKE POKEBALLS! LOL I’M SO HILARIOUS!”

    For example: http://cdn.duelinganalogs.com/comics/2011-06-02.png

Also, can I suggest F@NB0Y$? It’s been on hiatus for a while, but it recently started updating again. šŸ˜€
And Ctrl-Alt-Del is also pretty good šŸ™‚

  • Brandon

This comic is updated daily and is one of the funnier ones I have read.

  • MajorTool

RA is a good one… they’re all good really!
Here is one I haven’t seen mentioned yet that deserves a BIG mention…
It is an ongoing story that will take first couple hundred to get an understanding… but WELL worth it.

  • Dustin

Thanks! I love many of the comics you posted so I’m excited to check out the rest. Also, I don’t think that it updates every week but I started reading http://www.harkavagrant.com/ and I find it very funny.

  • eLTeezy

Check out http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/ one of my favorites after Cyanide and Happiness!

You guys should take a look at Doctor Cat. As the site explains, it’s a webcomic about a cat who is also a doctor. It’s relatively new, only started up back in January, but I like it and think that it’s worth sharing.

  • Hasan

Questionablecontent.net is one of the most acclaimed webcomics out there, but its got a lot of back story so I don’t think its suited for casual reading. however be warned, its quite possible to lose days go back and reading all of it. One thing I really appreciate is thee Jeph (the artist) is dedicated to improving his art and story, (unlike some other comics *cough SMBC cough*) just compare his early comics to the ones he does now.

  • mosef

\Freakangels is a really interesting webcomic

It’s updated weekly, and written by Warren Ellis, really good story about a group of friends with extraordinary powers, banding together in a flooded apocalyptic London.

Well worth reading from the beginning.

  • Nisha

For the comicbook geeks, there’s Let’s Be Friends Again! which updates 3x a week now.

  • One of my favorite geek-related webcomics – http://www.myextralife.com/

  • Bob

    Why has noone mentioned this?
Its an amazingly drawn webcomic with Zombies. Come on, the art isnt stickfigures, or MS paint characters, it has lots of effort put into it.

  • morty

http://www.questionablecontent.net !!!! this is a daily stop for me and the weekends are long without them šŸ™ its mostly about relationships and awesome odd humour, great characters, and some pretty poignant moments hidden among the sillyness!

  • morty

http://www.the-gutters.com is also a great read 3x a week and is theme around what is going on in the comic industry. its from lars who is the mastermind behind least i could do another ridiculously funny comic

  • Keith
  • Love this new feature, thanks! The Dueling Analogs one was by far the best this week.

  • Erik

    Order of the Stick

    and Erfworld

Though because of the creator’s chronic illness, OOTS is weekly-ish.

  • Drester

What are these old comments doing here?

  • to the artists whose entire sites revolve around these comics.

If you think there are specific comics Iā€™m missing that s

  • Fat Jerry

i don’t like nerf now most of the time and dueling analogs has a bunch of hit or miss but the rest of them are okay

http://www.meekrat.com has a bunch of comics

  • Sam

It’s actually a newspaper comic, but Retail is one of the funniest comics I’ve ever read. It’s especially great if you’ve ever worked in a retail environment with annoying corporate bosses and asshole customers. The whole archive is up at retailcomic.com

  • Sam

Oh yeah and it updates daily so there’s plenty to read.

  • Jeremy

There is a nice little new one I just picked up on. The artist is Chris Bourassa who was the lead designer on Pirates of the Caribbean. http://www.diedagain.com/comic

  • Sam

Oh yeah, and Bug. It’s a Monday through Friday comic that is absolutely hilarious. http://www.bugcomic.com

  • You have to go with http://thepunchlineismachismo.com/ for manly men doing manly things.

Great art work, great characters (both famous and originals) and great stories and punchlines! Updates at least once a week! Also, did I mention the artist worked on Ugly Americans?

I’m a daily reader, constantly watching for updates and I’ve come to show you a video from my home of Scotland. A local legend of my town. Duffy. Who danced for a beer. Welcome to stereotypical Glaswegian behaviour——-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18U9b3FblEw
